Wimbledon returns in 2021 with set start date of June 28th
The third Grand Slam in tennis of 2021 is set to start on June 28th 2021, one week after COVID restrictions are due to expire in England, the Wimbledon Championships are set to go ahead with a reduced capacity crowd.
After being canceled last year, Wimbledon organizers have not yet determined the number of tickets that will be made available for spectators, stating “in order to welcome the maximum number of guests, and manage our ticket distribution accordingly.” This could be the last time to see听Roger Federer听at Wimbledon, as the Men’s Entry list includes the return of听Nick Kyrgios,听Novak Djokovic,听and twenty-time professional tennis Grand Slam title winner听Rafael Nadal听also generating excitement among tennis fans.
The Women’s Entry List is also heating up with听Ashleigh Barty, Naomi Osaka听and听Simona Halep听expected to stand out and fan-favorite Serena Williams also competing to win her 24th career Grand Slam title, to reach the record set by听Billie Jean King.
ESPN will provide complete Wimbledon 2021 TV coverage,听with the Tennis Channel also providing coverage of听the only Grand Slam contested on grass. Streaming services听like Fubo and Sling TV听are also allowing viewers to opt-in to Wimbledon 2021 coverage.
